Why it matters
For thousands of Lucknow families, these three days decide whether they get a plot at the authority's rate or wait for the next phase. Knowing which size is drawn on which day saves applicants a wasted trip, and the per sq ft rates show the sums the winners will need to arrange.
The LDA lottery for plots in Lucknow’s two new residential schemes, Naimish Nagar on Sitapur Road and Varun Vihar near the Agra Expressway, is scheduled to start at 10 am on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, and run until 6 November. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will hold the draw at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar, with each day set aside for certain plot sizes, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan and Navbharat Times reported.
More than 35,000 people have applied for about 4,500 plots in the first phase of the two schemes, LDA vice-chairman Prathmesh Kumar told Amar Ujala. Registration ran online from 24 September to 27 October, so no new applications can be made for this draw.
LDA lottery dates: which plot size is drawn on which day
The vice-chairman has issued orders for the draw, according to Hindustan and Navbharat Times. The two schemes are drawn side by side in separate halls of the same building. Naimish Nagar plots are drawn in the Mars hall and Varun Vihar plots in the Jupiter hall, from 10 am each day. Applicants from all categories in a given plot size are entered in the same day’s draw.
| Date | Naimish Nagar (Mars hall) | Varun Vihar (Jupiter hall) |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday, 4 November | 72 and 112.5 sq m | 112.5 sq m |
| Thursday, 5 November | 162 and 200 sq m | 200 sq m |
| Friday, 6 November | 288 and 450 sq m | 162, 288, 300 and 450 sq m |
One detail is easy to miss. The 162 sq m plots fall on different days in the two schemes: Thursday in Naimish Nagar, but Friday in Varun Vihar. An applicant for a 162 sq m plot in Varun Vihar does not need to watch Thursday’s draw.
Where to watch and how slips will be drawn
Slips will be drawn in front of the applicants present, and Dainik Jagran reported that applicants themselves will pull the slips out. Anyone who cannot reach Gomti Nagar can follow the whole process live on LDA’s official YouTube channel, the order says, according to Navbharat Times. Police and administrative staff have been deployed at the venue, the paper added.
The reports read for this article do not say when the full list of successful applicants will be put online. LDA’s website has a Lottery Result page where it has posted the results of earlier draws, such as phase 5 of the Anant Nagar scheme in October, and a separate Lottery Eligibility List page. Those are the pages where earlier LDA results have appeared.

What the Naimish Nagar and Varun Vihar plots cost
When bookings opened, Dainik Jagran reported that LDA had fixed the rate at ₹3,800 per square foot in Naimish Nagar and ₹2,800 per square foot in Varun Vihar. The Naimish Nagar rate was repeated in Jagran’s and Prabhat Khabar’s reports on 26 September, after the launch.
The first phase opened 1,673 plots in Naimish Nagar, in Brahm Khand and Bhoomi Khand phases 1 and 2, and 2,847 plots in Varun Vihar, in Kashi Khand and Kailash Khand phases 1 and 2, according to those reports. That makes 4,520 plots, close to the “about 4,500” figure the vice-chairman gave this week. With more than 35,000 applicants, there are roughly 7 to 8 applicants for every plot, by NewsPlainly’s calculation.
The table below is NewsPlainly’s own calculation of what each plot size works out to at those rates. It converts square metres to square feet (1 sq m is 10.7639 sq ft) and multiplies by the reported rate. It covers the land rate alone. Any other charges set out in the scheme brochure are not included, and the brochure was not opened for this article.
| Plot size | Area in sq ft | Naimish Nagar at ₹3,800 | Varun Vihar at ₹2,800 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 72 sq m | 775 | ₹29.45 lakh | Not offered |
| 112.5 sq m | 1,211 | ₹46.02 lakh | ₹33.91 lakh |
| 162 sq m | 1,744 | ₹66.26 lakh | ₹48.83 lakh |
| 200 sq m | 2,153 | ₹81.81 lakh | ₹60.28 lakh |
| 288 sq m | 3,100 | ₹1.18 crore | ₹86.80 lakh |
| 300 sq m | 3,229 | Not offered | ₹90.42 lakh |
| 450 sq m | 4,844 | ₹1.84 crore | ₹1.36 crore |
Applicants who chose to pay the full price in one go had to pick that option while applying, and LDA said they would get priority in allotment, Jagran and Prabhat Khabar reported. The reports do not explain how that priority is applied inside the draw.

Where the two Lucknow plot schemes are
Naimish Nagar is being built on Sitapur Road in the northern part of the city. The vice-chairman put its area at about 4,100 acres, according to Jagran and Navbharat Times, while LDA’s own page on the scheme gives 3,681.69 acres. Its plots range from 72 to 450 sq m.
Varun Vihar lies near the Agra Expressway and covers about 6,580 acres, the reports said. Its first-phase plots run from 112.5 to 450 sq m, so it has no plot as small as Naimish Nagar’s 72 sq m option. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched both schemes on 24 September, and the registration deadline was pushed from 24 October to 27 October because of bank holidays, Jagran reported.

More Lucknow plots coming after this draw
This is only the first phase. After it, registration will open for about 1,000 more plots in each of the two schemes, the vice-chairman told Amar Ujala in late October. No date was given.
A separate scheme is also on the way. The Uttar Pradesh Awas Evam Vikas Parishad, the state housing board, plans to open registration for the first phase of Saumitra Vihar on New Jail Road, Dainik Jagran reported on Wednesday. Of its 2,261 plots, 2,092 are residential and 169 commercial. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are scheduled to start registration on 23 November, along with LDA’s IT City scheme on Sultanpur Road, the paper said.
