Corrections Policy

We work hard to get every detail right, but mistakes can happen. When they do, we fix them openly.

How to report an error

If you think something in one of our articles is wrong, email corrections@newsplainly.com with:

  • the link to the article;
  • what you believe is wrong;
  • a source for the correct information, if you have one.

We read every message and aim to respond within two working days.

How we correct

  • Factual errors such as a wrong number, name or date are corrected in the article, and a correction note is added at the end explaining what was changed and when.
  • Small fixes such as spelling or grammar that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
  • Developing stories are updated as new information comes in. The article shows when it was last updated.
  • Serious errors that change the main point of an article are corrected immediately and explained clearly at the top of the article.

We do not quietly delete articles to hide mistakes. In rare cases, such as a legal requirement or a risk to someone’s safety, we may remove content, and we will say so where possible.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can write to the editor through our contact page. We take every complaint seriously.
