Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information NewsPlainly collects when you use our website, why we collect it and what choices you have. We keep it as short and plain as we can.

Who we are

NewsPlainly is a news website based in India. For any privacy question or request, write to grievance@newsplainly.com.

What we collect

  • Information your browser sends. Like every website, our hosting server records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time of your visit. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working.
  • Language preference. If you use the language selector, a small cookie remembers the language you chose so the next page opens in the same language.
  • Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Translation

Our language selector uses Google Translate. When you choose a language, the text of the page is sent to Google to be translated, and Google may process technical information such as your IP address. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that service. If you do not use the language selector, nothing is sent to Google for translation.

Advertising and analytics

We do not currently show advertising or use analytics tools that track you. If we add them in future, for example Google AdSense or Google Analytics, we will update this page before they go live, explain what they collect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Images and links

Photos on NewsPlainly are stored on our own server, so loading them does not share your information with anyone else. Our articles link to other websites; when you follow a link, that website’s own privacy policy applies.

How long we keep information

Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security purposes. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw any consent you have given. Send your request to grievance@newsplainly.com. We will respond as soon as we can, and in any case within the time the law allows.

Children

NewsPlainly is a general news site and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
