Why it matters
Ramayana is the first of two parts, with the second set for Diwali 2028, so these early numbers are the first hard measure of how audiences are taking it. The day 2 fall, in both shows and money per show, means the first weekend now carries more of the load.
Ramayana box office day 2 collection came to ₹48.05 crore net in India, according to estimates by the trade tracker Sacnilk, as reported by Mathrubhumi and Hindustan Times on Saturday, 7 November 2026. That was on Friday, 6 November, the film’s second day. Nitesh Tiwari’s film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has now made ₹112.90 crore net in India in two days.
The second day was 25.9% lower than the ₹64.85 crore opening on Thursday. Even so, the Ramayana collection crossed the ₹100 crore net mark inside two days, a point both reports made.
Ramayana box office day 2 by language
Sacnilk counted 23,316 shows across India on Friday, Mathrubhumi reported in its Ramayana box office day 2 update. Net figures leave out taxes; the India gross after two days stood at ₹134.80 crore. The Hindi version again earned most of the money, as it did on the first day.
| Version | Day 2 net (6 November) | Share of day 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi | ₹35.50 crore | 73.9% |
| Kannada | ₹5.15 crore | 10.7% |
| Telugu | ₹4.75 crore | 9.9% |
| Tamil | ₹1.50 crore | 3.1% |
| Malayalam | ₹1.15 crore | 2.4% |
| Total | ₹48.05 crore | 100% |

Hindustan Times said the Kannada version had started slowly, despite Yash playing Ravana, and that Telugu had done well while Tamil and Malayalam lagged. The Hindi version fell from ₹47.50 crore on the first day, the figure in our day 1 report, to ₹35.50 crore on Friday. That is a fall of about 25.3%, close to the drop for the film as a whole.
Ramayana day 2 collection against the opening day
A simple way to read the Ramayana day 2 collection is money per show. On Friday the film earned about ₹20,600 net per show across India (₹48.05 crore divided by 23,316 shows). On Thursday it earned about ₹25,700 per show, using the opening figure of ₹64.85 crore over the roughly 25,200 shows reported for day 1. These are NewsPlainly’s rough calculations from Sacnilk estimates, not figures from the producers.
So the film had fewer shows on Friday, and each show brought in less. Hindustan Times noted that morning shows on Friday started slowly. It also said the first day had houseful shows.
Outside India, the Ramayana day 2 collection was ₹35 crore, which took the film’s overseas gross to ₹86.25 crore, Mathrubhumi reported.
Ramayana box office against Adipurush and other openings
Hindustan Times called the ₹64.85 crore start the fourth-highest opening in Bollywood history. It said Ramayana beat the first-day takings of Pathaan (₹57 crore), Animal (₹63 crore) and Drishyam 2 (₹62 crore). It fell short of the all-time day-one record of ₹102 crore held by Dhurandhar 2, and of Adipurush, another Ramayana film, which opened at ₹86.75 crore.
The gap with Adipurush stayed after Ramayana box office day 2. According to the same report, Adipurush had ₹151 crore net in India after its second day. That puts Ramayana ₹38.10 crore behind on the two-day count, by NewsPlainly’s calculation.
The comparison is not like for like. Hindustan Times pointed out that Adipurush’s first two days were a Friday and a Saturday, while Ramayana opened on a working Thursday and then played on a Friday.

Who made the film and what comes next
Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG (the visual effects company) and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Hindustan Times reported. It is planned in two parts. The first part released worldwide on 5 November 2026, and the second part is set for Diwali 2028.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash plays Ravana and Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman. The film was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Early reviews were largely positive, Mathrubhumi said; our round-up of the first reviews has the critics’ scores.
For Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, the weekend is the next test. Hindustan Times said the makers would hope that positive reviews and audience reactions bring more people to theatres. The day 3 figure for Saturday, 7 November, was not part of the reports read for this article. All box office numbers here are trade estimates from Sacnilk; the producers’ own figures were not in the reports read.
The figures in this article come from the Hindustan Times report and Mathrubhumi’s day 2 report.
