Why it matters
The weekly eviction did not happen on Saturday, so the result now comes in the next episode, due on Diwali day, 8 November. JioStar's vote figures show how many viewers take part in the audience votes that decide who leaves the house.
Salman Khan cut a cake on Saturday’s Weekend Ka Vaar to mark the Bigg Boss 20 100 crore watch-hour milestone on JioHotstar. Episode 63, aired on 7 November 2026 as the Diwali weekend episode, opened with the host celebrating the mark, according to the episode recap published that night by Times Now. Karan Johar and Shanaya Kapoor came on as guests, and Salman ended the night without an eviction, saying it would be announced in the next episode.
The milestone itself came from the platform a day earlier. JioStar said on Friday, 6 November, that the season had passed 100 crore watch-time hours in under 60 days, the fastest of any Bigg Boss season, BusinessLine and Outlook India reported.
How Salman Khan marked the Bigg Boss 20 100 crore milestone
Times Now’s recap says Salman began the episode by dancing to “Teri Sexy Beauty”, a song from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi. He then cut a cake to celebrate the show crossing 100 crore watch hours, told the housemates that a lot of people were watching on TV and OTT, and wished them a happy Diwali. The same recap says he announced that this Weekend Ka Vaar would be about more celebration and less bashing.
Viewers had a first look at the moment earlier in the day. On the afternoon of 7 November, before the episode aired, Pinkvilla and Glamsham reported on a video shared by the makers in which Salman cut a multi-tier cake on the sets and thanked viewers. Glamsham quoted the channel’s caption: “India watched. India loved!” A post embedded in its report described the clip as a Weekend Ka Vaar promo.
Times Now also reports that Salman gave contestants funny names in a light segment, and that he clarified the makers are being neutral with Mahhi Vij. The recap does not say what prompted the remark. Mahhi Vij was part of this week’s Diwali family-message task, which NewsPlainly reported on earlier this week.

What JioStar’s Bigg Boss 20 numbers claim
The figures below are JioStar’s own, from the statement carried by BusinessLine, Outlook India and India.com. They are the platform’s data, not an independent audit.
| What JioStar said | Figure |
|---|---|
| Watch-time hours on JioHotstar | 100 crore, in under 60 days |
| Votes cast so far | More than 350 crore, 71% more than the previous season |
| Number of fans voting | Up 48% |
| Gen Z share of watch time | 45% |
| Abroad | Top five JioHotstar titles in the UK, Canada and Singapore; No. 1 on STARZPLAY in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) |
NewsPlainly’s calculation: the Bigg Boss 20 100 crore figure, reached in under 60 days, works out to at least about 1.67 crore hours of viewing a day on average (100 crore divided by 60). The real daily figure is a little higher, since JioStar says the mark was reached in less than 60 days.

JioStar also said the season had the biggest opening day for a reality show on JioHotstar. BusinessLine’s report adds that Bigg Boss is the platform’s biggest entertainment franchise, running in six languages, with the Hindi season streaming round the clock. Watch-time hours add up the time all viewers spent streaming, so they are not a count of individual viewers; the reports of the statement did not give a viewer number.
In the statement, Salman said the show’s real game is played outside the house as well as inside it, and added: “This milestone belongs to each one of you.” Alok Jain, who heads JioStar’s Hindi and English entertainment business, said the show had crossed the mark with nearly half the season still to go. JioStar listed Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad among its most-watched markets, along with Lucknow, Surat, Jaipur and Nagpur.
Karan Johar and Shanaya Kapoor on Weekend Ka Vaar
Variety India had reported on 6 November that Karan Johar and Shanaya Kapoor would appear together to promote the web series Student Of The Year: After Dark, meeting the contestants from the stage without entering the house. Times Now’s recap of the aired episode has both of them on stage.
Karan first came on stage with Adel Sajan and Dr Sana Sajan of Danube Properties to promote a project in Dubai, and they played a task with the housemates. Times Now reports that Love Gill and Yung DSA had a verbal spat during this task over their differences; the recap does not set out what each of them said.
Shanaya Kapoor then joined to promote the series. Karan ran a rapid-fire round in three parts. ScoutOP defended Gullu, Yung DSA defended Love Gill and Kanika Mann defended Mahhi Vij, Times Now says. The three winners then ran a race game, and Yung DSA won the title of “Student Of The Year”. Variety India reports that the series, directed by Reema Maya, starts streaming on 13 November.
Times Now’s recap also describes a stand-up set by comedian Gaurav Gupta that drew objections from ScoutOP and Love Gill. That part of the episode is a separate story.
No Bigg Boss 20 eviction on Saturday
Times Now reports that Salman closed the episode by telling the housemates he would announce the eviction in the next episode, due on Sunday, 8 November. The recap does not name anyone at risk, and NewsPlainly does not report eviction names before an episode airs.
