Why it matters
About 70,000 people are expected at one stadium in central Delhi on a Friday night, so the curbs reach well beyond concertgoers. Anyone driving through Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg or the Barapullah flyover until midnight may be diverted, and fans need to plan the trip home without parking near the venue.
The Diljit Delhi concert, Diljit Dosanjh’s show at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on Friday, 30 October 2026, has brought traffic curbs to about 11 roads around the venue from 1 pm to midnight, and the Delhi Metro is running until midnight to carry home the roughly 70,000 people expected. The singer said in a video message that the show starts at 7.30 pm and must end by 10 pm, The Tribune reported.
The restrictions come from a Delhi Traffic Police advisory posted on X, as reported by India TV and Business Standard. The extended Metro hours were announced by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday. Neither notice was opened directly for this report; the details below are as the outlets carried them.
Roads with curbs during the Diljit Delhi concert
Business Standard listed the roads and stretches where diversions and restrictions were expected:
- Bhishma Pitamah Marg and Lodhi Road
- Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, mainly between the Defence Colony and Lodhi Colony flyovers
- Arch Bishop Makarios Marg
- Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue roads
- Internal roads of the CGO Complex (the Central Government Offices complex on Lodhi Road) and of Lodhi Colony
- The Barapullah flyover between the INA side and Gate 2 of Jangpura Metro station
- Dayal Singh College Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Marg and the roads ringing the stadium
Police set up eight diversion points and can open two more if traffic builds up, Business Standard said. India TV, quoting the advisory, said ambulances and other emergency vehicles will be given priority and that drivers should not park on the road. The advice for anyone not going to the show is simple: keep away from the stadium area until the curbs lift at midnight.
Helplines given in the Business Standard report: traffic helpline 1095, emergency 112 and 011-25844444.

Delhi Metro till midnight: which stations to use
DMRC said trains on every line except the Airport Express will run until midnight on 30 October, with extra trips and standby trains kept ready for the crowd leaving the venue, according to India TV and The Tribune. Rapid Metro in Gurugram keeps its normal timetable. The time window for buying QR code tickets on the Delhi Metro Sarthi app has been stretched by an hour to match, the reports said.
JLN Stadium station on the Violet Line, which runs between Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh, is the closest to the venue. Jangpura on the same line is the other option. On the Yellow Line, India TV named INA station, while Business Standard listed INA and Jor Bagh. DMRC is posting extra staff and adding metal detectors and screening at JLN Stadium station, The Tribune reported.

Getting home after the concert: a quick guide
Dosanjh asked fans to be at the venue by 6.30 pm. For the trip out, and for anyone driving nearby, NewsPlainly put the advisory and DMRC details into one table by how you are travelling.
| If you are | What the advisory and DMRC say |
|---|---|
| Leaving by Metro, Violet Line | JLN Stadium or Jangpura stations; trains until midnight |
| Leaving by Metro, Yellow Line | INA (both reports) or Jor Bagh (Business Standard) |
| Taking a cab or auto | Use the marked pick-up points: Arch Bishop Makarios Marg, Lal Masjid at Pragati Vihar, Kushak Nala bus depot red light |
| Came in your own car | No public parking near the stadium; limited invitee parking only at Dayal Singh College and Sunehri Pula bus depot |
| Driving through south or central Delhi | Avoid the roads listed above until midnight |
The evening in five times: curbs from 1 pm, fans asked to arrive by 6.30 pm, show from 7.30 pm, a hard stop at 10 pm, then Metro and road curbs both ending at midnight. That leaves about two hours between the scheduled end of the show and the last trains, by NewsPlainly’s count from those times.
How the JLN Stadium show got here
The concert, part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour 2026, was first set for 1 November. It was moved to 30 October after Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney asked Dosanjh not to perform on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, The Tribune reported.
Delhi Police had held back permission for the show, then granted it after organisers BookMyShow Live presented a security plan. BookMyShow said on 23 October that permission had been “temporarily withheld, not cancelled”, the news agency ANI reported. NewsPlainly covered that decision on the 30 October show at the time.
In his Instagram video, Dosanjh asked fans to come by Metro because there would be no parking at the stadium, The Tribune said. He called this the first show of his 2026 Aura Tour and said he would next return to Delhi in 2028.
